Slowly but surely reading books and telling you about them

Hello everyone! Thank you for your patience – real life work has brought a lot of changes and added responsibilities, which means I haven’t had as much time as I’d like to write here about new books I’m reading. To catch up and make more of a backlog, I’m going to pause book reviews until the beginning of October.

Instead, you can catch me virtually and in-person doing some cool stuff! Tomorrow (August 24th), I’ll be moderating an author talk with Tolonda Henderson about disability representation in Bridgerton and Doctor Strange. You can watch it live on YouTube here:

Then, on September 30th, you can find me at the National Museum of the American Indian presenting a workshop on Indigenous people in children’s literature at the Teaching for Change Teach-In!

I’m really excited about both of these opportunities – afterward, my hope is that things will slow down enough that I can get back to reading, reviewing, and writing. Gichi miigwech as always for reading through this and sticking with me!
